June 28th

To piggy back on last weeks devo on faith and hope…

I ran across a saying the other day… Faith does not make things EASY, it makes them POSSIBLE.

Luke 1:37 For no word from God will ever fail.

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to him who is able to do IMMEASURABLY MORE than all we ask or IMAGINE, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

He is able to do more than we can ask or even imagine.

Faith is not based on a fairy tale or a dream that we hope might someday happen but doubt because it is too good to be true.

Faith is based on the TRUTH, which never fails.

Faith is based on REALITY. The reality that we don’t always recognize but even still exists.

Our faith is based on what we do NOT see. When will we wrap our minds (and hearts) around the fact that what we SEE is NOT reality, or at least not the full reality. We struggle to remember that the world we see is actually such a small part of the reality. Most of the time we forget that there is a spiritual reality that is actually more true than the physical one and actually influences and drives the physical one. I know, it is only natural since we humans see the physical; but we have to train our minds to always think of the spiritual realm so that we can judge the reality of the physical world in perspective of the spiritual reality.

Set your minds on things above, what is unseen, not on what is seen.

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

2 Corinthians 4:18 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Jesus, thank you for not limiting what you do to what I can imagine! Thank you for placing that same power within me. Help me to remember that and act like it! Thank you for being the Truth that my faith can be based on and please show me how to walk in that faith and help me keep my mind on you and your reality not this world. Thank you Jesus.
