AUGUST 27th
Trust God for what you need for today.
Sure that might be finances, or time, or it might be peace, or creative thinking, or wisdom and discernment, or patience, etc.
Regardless of the need, He promises to provide and instructs us to ask for it. Remember Jesus when He taught us to pray told us to ask for that.
Matthew 6:11 Give us today our daily bread.
We don’t even know everything that we will need today, but He does. He knows where we will fall short, what resources we need and what obstacles we will face.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
ALL of our needs, not some. Not all our wants, but all our needs. He thinks bigger than we do anyway, so why settle for what we can think of or recognize as a need? His economy is different than ours.
Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Not only are His thoughts and ways higher than ours but He wants to bless us with the infinite, the supernatural, what will satisfy our soul, not just our temporary physical needs (although He will supply those too.) Too often we settle for what we can see, or we complain when we don’t have what we can see, when He is really pouring out what we can’t see.
2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
So let’s trust God for what we need for today but let’s not be shortsighted and settle for less that ALL that God has for us today!
Lord Jesus forgive me for being so focused on my physical needs. Help me to reach for all that you have for me. Thank you for wanting to take care of and provide for me. Help me to trust you. Help me to recognize the ways that you bless me.
