May 13th

When I am unsure, I just have to ask myself if I trust Him. Do I believe, really believe, that Jesus loves me?

If I ask that question, I have to really answer it truthfully. If I think of my own shortcomings, I hesitate to answer. But, if I think of His nature, I am positive that He loves me. When I think of His grace for me, His leaning/reaching for me, I cannot help but realize that He loves me. I have to stand on the promises that He has made me. As you face whatever is in front of you today, start by proclaiming God’s love for you. Read these verses and insert your name into them. Where you see the word “us,” “you” or “we” insert your name. For example: Who shall separate Amy/Bill from the love of Christ?...Amy/Bill is more than a conqueror…and so on

Romans 8:35, 37-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Try it with that one too: For God so loved Amy that He gave His one and only Son, that Amy believes in Him she will not perish but have eternal life.

If you have not put yourself in the middle of scripture, claiming its promises for yourself, I encourage you to make it a habit. Start wherever you are reading in the New Testament and learn to see these promises for yourself and make them personal.

God’s promises are not just for everyone else, they are yours too. Take hold of them. Your perspective of yourself and your situation will change when you view it from the Word of God.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Jesus thank you for your Word and your promises. Thank you for your presence and that you never leave me . Thank you that your Word is for me. Help me to grab hold of your Word to learn it and to live it. Help me to immerse myself in your Word and see it change my life. Thank you for speaking your Word over my life Jesus.
