The Book of Revelation Devotions Day 21
DAY 21
Look at the promises in these letters to the 7 churches!
Revelation 2:7 “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”
Revelation 2:11 “The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.”
Revelation 2:17 “To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.”
Revelation 2:26-28 “To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’ —just as I have received authority from my Father. I will also give that one the morning star.”
Revelation 3:5 “The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.”
Revelation 3:12 “The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.”
Revelation 3:21 “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.”
WOW! Makes you want to be victorious doesn’t it?!! It is also not what some people imagine about heaven. I’m thinking we ditch the old image of cherubs floating around on clouds and go with what is revealed to us in Revelation. We obviously have no real idea of how amazing heaven will be or what it will be like; but based on these promises, it is definitely safe to say that we can trust our Lord and Savior not just with salvation but also with our future. He obviously has good plans for us! He appears to be excited to shower blessings on us if we will just cling to Him!
Perhaps the words of Jeremiah apply more than just to our life here on earth!
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jesus, when I read all of these promises I feel your love and I know that everything that I go through here on earth will be nothing compared to being with you there in heaven. It all seems so different. But I trust you and I want to be victorious, help me to stay so close to you that nothing can fit between us. Thank you for making a plan that was more than we can imagine. Thank you for dying for me so that I can experience your plan for me. Thank you Holy Spirit for leading me closer and closer to you.
